Text Box: My Name is Andrea L. Ellis and I am an artist. I started exploring my artistic abilities back in elementary school. I can remember bringing home drawings from school and my great grandmother placing my pictures on the refrigerator and walls of our home. I would sketch and color all day just to see her smile and admiration. In high school, I enrolled in art classes. I was mentored by a teacher named Mr. Jordan. I would quickly finish my assignments in other classes so that I could return to his class to sketch and paint. Most of my lunch breaks were spent in his art class. I went to college with the intentions of receiving a degree in Accounting vs. Art, due to the fact that I wanted art to remain a passion as well as an escape mechanism, not a full time job. After accomplishing a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, marriage and two beautiful children, I started re-focusing on my artistic abilities. 4 years ago, a gentleman from the Zulu Social Aid & Pleasure Club approached me to design and decorate his coconuts for Mardi Gras 2007. I accepted the task, mastered it, and the rest is history.

Creative thoughts sorting through my mind
De-stressing the chaos that surrounds me
As I step out of the box
Finding myself in another place and another time.

Reaching beyond what we call reality
Into a therapeutic adventure.
Trials and tribulations washing from my soul
As I revealed to the world this God given talent.

From my heart I create a personal touch to
Acrylic paintings and personalized products:
Greeting cards
Invitations
Hand crafted Parasols and umbrellas for that special day
Flyers, brochures,
Business cards, menus,
Templates, logos, etc.
Need to say it on paper, call me.

I create are intended to express my love and passion for the great City of New Orleans, for art, for my belated great grandmother, Ophelia Edwards and grandfather, Snooks “Ferd” Eaglin. RIP
